A Word from Your State PresidentApril 21, 2008 To all Oklahoma Elks and their families: Debbie and I are very excited and deeply honored that you, the Members, have given us the opportunity to represent you as your State President and First Lady. As I said at the State Convention, we look forward to visiting with and working with as many of you as possible during the coming year. We feel we have many friends across our State and spending this year in Elkdom with them is an exciting prospect. I believe we have a great slate of state officers supporting us this year. We are sure they will work hard to make you proud. I would like to introduce your District Vice-Presidents and Appointed State Officers for the coming year. They are:
We certainly enjoyed the time we spent with Grand Exalted Ruler Lou Sulsberger, his wife Beth, Past Grand Exalted Ruler Jim McQuillan and his wife Karen. They were most gracious and easy to visit with! I have never met two more dedicated Elks. Listening to and taking part in discussions with them was both enjoyable and educational. I hope each of you had a chance to meet them and maybe even spend a little time with them. As we have in past years, we will be working hard to improve our membership numbers. One of the subjects I have asked the District Vice-Presidents to stress during their Lodge visits is Membership and Lapsation. I believe we need to find ways to retain the Members we have and get lapsed Members back into our Lodges. I believe one thing we need to do is strive to make our Lodges a place where young and old alike enjoy visiting. I am sure State Chairperson Rita Shaw and her committee will be working hard to help us improve our Membership numbers. Again, Debbie and I are excited about the coming year and looking forward to visiting with our many friends. Jim Craycraft

A Word from Your State President-ElectMy fellow Oklahoma Elks & Ladies, What a great privilege it is to have the opportunity to serve as your President-Elect. We are looking forward to visiting with as many of you as we can over the next couple of years.
It is a particular honor to be able to travel with two of the hardest working Elk couples in Oklahoma, your State President and First Lady, Jim & Debbie Craycraft.
We also want to express our deep appreciation to John & Glenda Pannell for a great year and an excellent state convention. I know John and Glenda would agree that much of the credit goes to the Convention Committee and, particularly, Jack and Patty Koch for their years of great service to the Oklahoma Elks Association.
Thanks again and we'll see you on the Elk's trail somewhere this year! Fraternally, Millard & Susanne Pickering
